Tips2 yang saya tulis ini adalah rumusan berdasarkan kisah pengalaman sendiri mencari stroller (yang boleh di baca di sini (part 1) dan di sini (part 2)..sebab masa kami sendiri nak mencari stroller, agak jenuh dan kompleks juga. Jadi diharap dengan berkongsi serba sedikit pengalaman saya ni, dapatlah membantu mana2 di luar sana yang sedang mencari stroller.

1.Mengetahui perbezaan STROLLER, PRAM, BUGGY - dalam artikel ni saya akan menggunakan perkataan "stroller" secara umum....

4. Survey stroller - boleh dibuat menggunakan internet untuk mendapat maklumat berkaitan dengan stroller yang sedang dicari dan pergi survey di kedai untuk melihat sendiri rupa stroller tersebut. Dengan cara tu, kita akan lebih mengenali jenama2 yang ada di pasaran. Sebab kalau tengok gambar je nampak kecik tapi sebenarnya besar dan berat...

What is the difference between a pushchair and a buggy, stroller, or pram?

Retailers make choosing transport for your baby extra baffling by using terms such as pushchair and stroller interchangeably. However, there are slight differences between the different models:

A pushchair is relatively sturdy in comparison to a stroller. You should be able to recline the seat fully and have it either forward-facing or parent-facing. It's usually suitable for both newborns and older babies, and can often fold flat.

A pram is designed to carry newborns and younger babies, usually while they're lying down. It's sturdy and generally can't be folded flat.

A stroller is lightweight and collapsible, ideal for older babies.

A buggy can be a pushchair or a stroller, depending on who you ask!

Pushchairs: the main categories

Before starting to look at pushchairs, think about your lifestyle and if possible, your longer-term plans. This will help you to narrow down your choice.

There are several types of pushchair to pick from:

• three-in-one or two-in-one pushchairs, which include a carrycot
• all-terrain pushchairs / "three wheelers"
• travel systems, which include a car seat
• double or tandem pushchairs

Three-in-one, or two-in-one pushchairs

Pushchairs are suitable for newborns and usually have a seat that can face either towards or away from you. They often have handy features, such as swivel wheels or enclosed carrycots. They can also fold up so that they fit into the car boot. However, they are expensive and can be bulky and heavy.

All-terrain pushchairs

All-terrain pushchairs are ideally suited to the great outdoors. They usually have three, chunky wheels and good suspension for a smooth ride across bumpy ground. They are often larger than standard pushchairs and may not fit in all car boots.

Travel systems

Travel systems have a pushchair chassis and usually come with a carrycot and car seat attachment. This means that all of your baby's travel needs are met with one pushchair. Although useful, your baby may quickly outgrow this type of pushchair.

Double or tandem pushchairs

If you have an older baby, or are expecting twins, this type of pushchair is great for getting your whole family out and about. But check the size of the pushchair - some may not fit into shops easily and can be difficult to push.

Pram vs Stroller

Pram and stroller are carriage you might want to consider buying when you are planning to bring your small children with you. Prams and strollers allow parents or guardians to carry infants and toddlers when walking around the park or strolling in the mall.

Pram

Pram, short for the British word perambulator, is also known as baby carriage. Prams have carriages with soft flat bottom which allow you put your infants to sleep comfortably in lying position while you walk them around with you. They also have wide canopy, usually half covering the carriage, to protect the infants from the sun or dust. They also have wheels that allow you to easily push the carriage.

Stroller

Stroller is also known as push chair or buggy in British. Strollers are designed as chairs where a child can sit. The seats have restraint system consisting of harness, safety belt, and crotch strap that secures the infant in sitting position. They also have hoods or canopy for protection that protect the infants from weather and they also have wheels which make transporting very convenient.

Difference between Pram and Stroller

Pram and stroller are used interchangeably; however, their main difference is that prams are used to carry new born babies until they are able to sit up while strollers are used to carry toddlers or infants who are already able to sit up. Another significant difference between the two is prams are bulky and heavy which is not a good choice for child transport when going to the malls or when carrying them in the car while strollers are lightweight and most models of strollers are collapsible. Additionally, prams’ carriages are high while the strollers’ seats ride low to the ground.

There are baby carriages that are hybrid of prams and strollers which are practical to buy as you will not have to change the carriage quickly as your child gets older. However, in choosing the best carriage, you should consider your child’s comfort.

a) reka bentuk - design moden, single/ twin/ tandem dan ciri2 lain yg memberi keistimewaan kpd setiap satu jenama dan product range/ model2 yg berbeza.

ada yang nampak mcm biasa je.. ada yang nampak moden.ikut suka lah...

d) shopping basket -variable size

tengok sendiri..ikut suka.... kalau dah berkenan stroller tu tp basket dia kecik, then boleh attached bag asing... ada yg jual accessories, ada yang guna kreativiti sendiri dgn meletakkan beg sandang kat handle stroller, ada yang beli penggantung "S"...

e) ringan vs berat - kecik besar/ compact

mostly Combi (4.6 -6.4kg), Babyzen (6 kg) ringan dan compact berbanding Quinny yg compact tp tak berapa ringan ( 9 kg). Easywalker mini buggy 6.5 kg dan compact.

kalau cari buggy utk budak besar, biasanya umbrella fold (compact) dan ringan cuma tak boleh dr newborn, dan biasanya front facing sahaja.

f) senang dikendalikan folding mechanism (detachable parts, trifold/ double fold, umbrella, single-handed)

double fold - combi Spazio, Miracle turn, capella, aprica

single fold - well comford, Quinny Buzz

umbrella - maclaren, seababy

detachable - SCR 6, SCR 12, Quinny Zapp, Quinny Zapp Extra

single fold compact - babyzen yoyo, quinny zapp extra 2.0

g)  roda (bilangan roda/ suspension) - tiga vs empat

ada yang kata 3 roda lagi lancer berbanding 4 roda, tapi depending on suspension dia.

itupun ikut safety specs...UK hanya benarkan 4 wheeles stroller sebab dikatakan lebih stabil, US benarkan 3 wheeled stroller sebab katanya equally stable. US 3-wheeled usually stable than EU 3 -wheeled due to its longer wheel bases. 

roda yang bersaiz besar biasanya material dia berbeza sket dan dia direka bentuk utk kegunaan outdoor, jadi roda dia tahan lasak di atas jalan2 yang tidak rata dan berbatu.

3 roda ni ada org kata "jogger" utk kegunaan outdoor, untuk jogging2 di taman, so dia smooth sket.

3 Wheel Strollers & Prams (aka Joggers) Advantages: lighter easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces easier to fold cheaper

Compromises:

 less stable when aggressively changing directions

Suggested for Parents who:

 want to exercise with their pram

live in smaller indoor spaces and narrow hallways

want a lighter highly manoeuvrable pram

4 Wheel Strollers and Prams Advantages: more stable ride on uneven surfaces dual suspension for smoother ride Compromises: heavier more expensive Suggested for Parents who:  regularly encounter cobblestones want a smoother, more stable ride for their child spend more of their time outdoors on rugged terrainharder to steer in tight spaces

h) harga/ bajet

 mahal...murah... ikut specs yang dicari

lagi ringan, lagi compact, lagi mahal lah dia...

I) kusyen/ padding yang selesa

my personal opinion, maclaren, halford nmpak padding dia tebal. same goes as silver cross... tapi padding tebal akan lebih bulky bila lipat and will contribute to its total weight.

Compact mcm Quinny, Coombi, Babyzen... kusyen dia tak brapa gebu tapi masih lembut dan selesa.

j) kegunaan - outdoor vs indoor

outdoor biasanya roda dia dr material yang tahan lasak, tidak mudah rosak, frame/ rangka sederhana ringan tapi tahan lasak, roda besar, shock absorbant utk jalan tak sekata/ bumpy roads and pebbles pavement

k) travel system

nak include baby carrier ke tak.. terpulang...
